About me.
Hi, my name is Caleb, and I’m a 20-year-old photographer from Birmingham. I am currently based in Nottingham studying a BA (Hons) Photography at NTU. I got into the art through skateboarding. My friends and I would always be filming, and somewhere down the line, that turned into photography, although I can’t pinpoint where!
In recent years, my practice has shifted toward a fine art perspective of documentary photography. Finding the poetry in creation and using my camera to harness what I see in an attempt to benefit it. My work is shot on film, with the vast majority being black and white, to capture my surroundings outside of time and print them into a story.
Documentary photography to me does not necessarily mean four walls of fact, but instead using a photograph in a body of work that compels and speaks of truth rather than to explicitly show it.
